Not as many people in the "old underworld" now ... i've noticed an increase in ecto drop rates down there ...

I've done it twice with no drops. The second time, two members of my team got two greens each on that run, while I got nothing.

It could be worse... you could get no greens on 3 runs, and on those 3 runs your friend who goes along gets Victo's Battle Axe every time, along with Victo's Blade on one of the runs.

That's not worse... that indeed IS what happens to me.

Four runs and still no greens for me. I have picked up a couple ectos tho. But the last two runs, someone picked up two greens out of three that dropped.

If that really happens it is amper proof for people to throw the "it is rannnndooom" argument down the toilet bowl. There are definitely some funny bias involved, and people are detecting it.

lol I’m afraid I have worse luck then that. By the time I would get my first green drop it would be the ogre-slaying knife and everyone else would have at least 2 complete sets of all the new green drops. But I'll keep trying.

I did my first run to the new Underworld and after all the crap we had to go through, I actually got my first green item, or items in this case I got Victo's Blade and Milinus' Eye after a hard battle vs. The Darkness (two people left and we didn't have a proper team.

I was one of the only people who brought candy canes and I was selling them for 700g a piece. As soon as the first Darkness died, the Victo Blade dropped for me. I quickly picked it up just in case and then I grabbed Milinus' Eye shortly afterwards. I guess that was due to the good karma I had during the scenario (not picking up a forgotten ecto and giving back someone's Superior ID kit after they let me use it).

Finally, a farming run that actually paid off...

I have to agree with the loot issue. I'm not looking for the world here but the new tombs are high-end areas. It makes no sense why there aren't a least a few more colored drops. Not even talking greens, just a few gold or a purple once in awhile.

People will want to do it for the greens or the challenges, but it's replayability will be limited once everyone has the new items and they have completed the entire map a few times.

It has to be random. On my last run, the guy who died the most got a green drop. He even got it when he was dead while we battled the Darkness. He kept screaming, "Rez Me!" I guess he was afraid someone would scarf it.

Also, the number of raven staffs and canes became a joke after a while. People stopped picking them up. I got two lousey purples and one was from a Phantom chest. I'll never buy another key.

Post [GMs Please Read] A View on My Drops and the Loot System of Guild Wars

Hmm, I guess I'll post my statistics on the Tombs' greens so far, I wasn't too compelled to start my own thread, but since this is the place to do it, here I go.

Tomb of Primeval Kings: Green Items

A "Fun" Weekend
Hours Played: ~30
Hours of Sleep Lost: 8
Completed Runs: 5
Green Items:
Illyana's Staff (2x)

So, basically, I spent my entire weekend, which I wanted to try out the new characters in-depth with, grinding for Greens, fruitlessly. I have a monk, a warrior, and an elementalist. I got two Mesmer Domination Greens, which, as you can see, are completely useless on any of my characters. This is nothing new, however. I used to be convinced that it was sheerly "luck", however, I'm certain now that it isn't. Having over 840 hours played, now I know from experience that drops aren't based on luck. I have done some farming, mostly Tengus before they were "updated". I'm not in any way afraid to admit that, however, as this furthers my purpose in writing this. I got my first and only black dye drops on one of these runs. After approximately 640 hours of playing, I got a black dye. It isn't just dyes or greens, though. It's rare items as well. My first rare item, after about 380 hours of gameplay--comparatively better than the others--was a max damage shadow bow. I was ecstatic on this occasion--until I identified it. It turned out to be a Shocking Shadow Bow of Pruning, no damage mod. My point is that my drops suck. There is no way of doubting that, and I don't mind if I get less drops than everyone else. What I want is an equal opportunity for Green and rare drops. One that is based on class, and decided by a fair and just system, possibly based on the quality level of the items you currently have. Guild Wars is an excellent game, if it weren't for the unfair distrobution of loot, in my opinion. If they fix this, and give people like me a chance, I'm sure they will see more revenue from both new players and old, especially with the dawn of Factions. Since Guild Wars is often compared to WoW, why not get one more leg up on the competition; giving players a chance to get the items they need and deserve. Hey, Guild Wars already has better graphics and PvP Combat, and the fact that it doesn't require a subscription helps, too. So why not make PvE a little better by making it fair to everyone?

Sorry for the long post. I just hope that my message gets heard and considered. Have a nice day.

Falcon

Uh...deserve? I'm sorry, i must have missed the part in the manual where it says you deserve a certain item.
You can get weapons and items from collectors which are better then 99.9% of the stuff that drops for free (well nearly free anyway), so you can always get the items you need or want basically.
So Anet already provides this feature and if thats not good enough then buy what you want with money earned farming.

Drops have never been anything but random and however frustrating that can be (I farmed Grenths the first week daily for hours without any greens) its what it is, a gamble, luck, whatever you call it. The next week I had 4 Yakslapper and several other greens btw.

I've completed 6 runs now, I've had a great time doing it and made a few new friends, I've gotten 4 green items which were of no use to me...and I feel not in the least unrewarded, this is not a job, its a game you play for fun.

The hours spent have yielded me more GP then any UW run I've ever done and its been a lot more fun, why this (dare I say it) whine about not getting what you feel you deserve? Once Anet puts up a sign saying "Walk through this door to collect your free 100K+ item" then you have a right to expect something...but this is frankly childish imho.

Apparently, yes.

By the way, did you read the entire post or skim it? I got my only black dye ever at 650 hours, dont simply shrug that off as bad luck, not even extremely bad luck. Also, trolling is bad for your health.

i think every player should get a green for the amount of effort involved. it is extremly frusterating to get nothing especially after multiple trips and watch the jerk of the group pick up his 100k+ item. I find it especially appauling to see some players get 2+ drops and others get nothing. even in sf this happens, and it makes no sence. i dont have time to do this 30 times to get somehing some lucky punk is gonna get first try, its bee ess, and everyone knows it.

Well, I think there should be a Collector have the Same state with that New Green Shield, or at least make it so our "Poor Pooor Poooor" PvP character can get that state for pvp....More cry? Yes.

In essense GW is really just a game of dolls.
PVE characters always have an oppurtunity to gain an advantage over pvp characters, sure they lack the flexibility but they can get equipment you cannot get with a pure pvp char. And what exactly do you think you're going to spend gold on if you're a pvp character?

Finally hit Green tonight. Not a great one, but not bad. I got Elswyth's Recurve bow.

i thinnk the drop rate is fine..
i dont think Anet wanted the new greens to lose mysticism in one week
plus, they wanted this part of the game to be challenging/frustrating
